Looking for decent mid price bino in 10x42. I have not ruled out the ZR ED2 either. How do these stack up to each other in brightness. Alpen wins in the weight, size and field of view. Just don't know about the brightness and image quality. But everyone swears by the ZR. Thanks for the help.

The Zen ED2 is tough to beat optically against anything $1000 and under. I favored the view over my trinovids and the old SLC. Don't rule out the Leupold Gold Ring HD for $599 after rebate.....fantastic glass and built like a tank.

Check the Review section. I did a review of some Pentax 8x43 SP, Swaro 8x30, Kahles 8x32 and ZR 10x42 ED. The Swaro and Pentax were the top of the bunch. |
