Hi everyone, I am new to opticstalk and would like some help picking out a scope for my 6.8 ar15. The rifle will be used primarily for 50-300 yard shots on deer and antelope. The scopes I am looking at currently are the 2-7x vortex viper, 1.25-5x sightron big sky and the 4x sightron sii.

I am trying to keep the rifle fairly light and for this reason am looking mostly at the two sightron scopes as they are a little bit lighter but like the vortex as it offers a little more magnification and I have heard a lot of great reviews on it and vortex's cs. Which of these scopes would you recommend or should I save up for something higher end? Thanks.

Also wanted to add that I have very little experience with optics and in fact this will only be my second scope I have purchased. The only other scopes I have experience with are an old swift 3-9x40 and a mueller apv. Will the scopes I have listed be noticeably better optically? also between the 3 scopes listed which will have the best glass? Thanks again.

That Vortex Viper is a nice scope. Thunbs Up

Well with the comments so far it sounds like I will be going with the vortex. Is there anyone who has used more two or more of the scopes listed and could compare them? Thanks for all the input so far.

Also I am very interested in the 3-9x40 accupoint and am wondering how much better glass it would have compared to the viper. If it is significantly better I may just wait until next summer and go with the accupoint

i dont know that significantly is the right word it is better glass but i think your paying for the tritium reticle more than the glass quality.
