Anyone got any experience with CZ Pistols? After my recent good luck with the CZ 452 I have been looking at their other product lines and think about trying one of their pistols. Local shop has a couple and they feel good in the hand. I am a Sig guy and love my Sigs so any comparison will be appreciated.

CZ 75's are great pistols. They have great ergonomics and accuracy and are super simple to field strip. They can be carried a number of ways including cocked and locked. Don't try the single action only version - you'll be ruined for anything else.

CZ75 is one of the only double action pistols that Col. Jeff Cooper liked. More for design and ergonomics than DA trigger.
I've shot one and liked it. Don't have a need for one, but wouldn't whine if I had to carry one.

Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

I also looked at one, but decided on the Beretta PX4.

75's make a good all around gun, the da trigger pull is longer than a lot of revolvers and the break isn't as good as a Glock, the single action is ok but nothing like a good 1911. The CZ use a take down pin that is soft and I've had failures, usually remake the pins out of drill rod stock. It does not use a swinging link like a 1911 therefore it cannot be changed for longer/shorter in accurazing the gun. The barrels are on the marginal side and appear to be castings, usually replace them with a BarSto. The sear comes in an assembly which will torque side ways on the trigger pull, not bad in some guns, worse in others, sometimes need to be shimmed. (the torque causes the square angles of the hammer sear and sear to misalign and changes the trigger pull). Most outstanding features are grip and reasonably priced, although the thumb safety is not optimal for high thumb hold. |

For my two cents worth, I have owned both a CZ75B 9mm and a CZ 97B in .45 ACP. The CZ 97B was too big for my hands, but it was an extremely accurate pistol and a pleasure to shoot. The CZ 75B is the most accurate 9mm factory offering that I have personnaly fired. My hand fit the grips well, it pointed very naturally for me and it is just a pleasure to shoot. The accuracy was fantastic. I fed it 115 gr bullets and it was amazing what it would do. I don't recall any malfuntions with either. I think that it is one of those pistols that really boils down to the features that you are looking for and your own personal "coolness" factor. I carried both concealed. I had such a good experience with the 75 that I am looking at the P-01 for carry duties in a 9mm. Just my opinions on CZ pistols.
