These pictures were taken with my phone, so nothing special.  My dad and I went up to Judith Peak, Red Mountain, and Grassy Peak in the Judith Mountains outside of Lewistown, MT.  I grew up in these mountains.  From Judith Peak, on a clear day, you can see 12 different mountain ranges.  Some say you can see into Canada 300 miles away. Hope you enjoy.

Top of Judith Peak looking west towards Lewistown.

Judith Peak looking Northwest at the Moccasins.

Red Mountain looking east southeast.

Red Mountain looking east.

Grassy Peak looking southwest.  In the back to the right you can make out part of the Snowy Mountain.

Wildflowers coming down Grassy Peak.  This picture does not show how steep it really is.

Truly breathtaking. I'd love to be there (instead of here).

Amazing.  Living at the coast you never get tired of mountain areas.  IF i wasn't so attached to where i was i'd love to live in a real mountanous region

Beautiful area Andrew.  I'm a 'mountain' person vs my wife the 'beach' girl.  Vacations are never agreed upon.  I just go where she tells me!

Truly the BIG SKY country out there. I was up in Spokane for SEAR school in the Air Force and i thought that was amazing country.  I'd love to get up to Montana just for the experience but of  course fly fishing and a little hunting wouldn't hurt!

In the shot from Red Mtn. looking ESE would this be an ELK area?

Yes sir!  That is elk country.  Although I don't really hunt it.  I think it is a permit area only, and I put in for the Missouri Breaks.  Can't wait to draw a rifle tag there.  That place has some big big elk.

BTW, that last picture he posted was the current weather. So don't think of moving here. Big Smile

Those were nice pictures. Sure is green this year with the recent rains. I just got back from a four-day float trip on the Smith and it almost hurt my eyes, it was so green. Will post a pic or two tomorrow.
