I've been searching for over a week.
Redaing all I could find.
Now it's time to ask.
I've been looking for a good 1-4x24 scope for my Colt HBAR Match Target Competition.
I'll be using this AR for close to midrange shooting.
1 power because there would be no need to change out scopes from a longer range scope.
At 4 power it would get me out to 300-400 meters.
Any information is appreciated.
By the way, hi, this is my first post here.
Thanks

Looking to get one pretty quick, and I think I would max out at $400.00.
I've been looking at the Leatherwood CMR, and the Burris, but the Burris is just a hair over what I really want to spend.

The leatherwood is new and I haven't seen many reviews on it. The guys at SWFA did say it was a decent looking scope and one guy on here just bought one and likes it. Millet has the DMS that several use but they havea history of being either really good or a real dud depending on what day the week you get it. (if you know what i mean) If you could wait a little longer and save just a bit more you could get the new SS 1x4 that is due to come out soon, it will be a great scope and a must have for someone wanting a serious 1-4 for an AR.

Under $400 your options are somewhat limiting. I would check this on out: ILya

oh yea save up for the SS. otherwise if you buy now u will be compelled by the awesomeness of the SS to buy it when it comes out. then you just bought 2 scopes when all you needed was the SS.
Seriously though. It would be the best bet. You will spend a little more but you will be getting alot for your money. |

I read in the Hide that they'll be $750.00.
That's a little rich for me now.
I have friend wanting to get rid of an AK & I can always use another, especially at $250.00.
There's the difference in the leatherwood and the SS.
I emailed SWFA about availability yesterday.
No reply yet.
Thanks

I'm probably getting another AK from a friend for $250.00
That would be close to the difference from the Leatherwood and the SS.
It would also be nice to have an idea when these will be available.
Thanks

Well, I broke down and got myself a Leatherwood CMR 1424 and a Burris P.E P.R. mount.
Couldn't wait any longer.
I'll let ya'll know how good it does at the range later this week.

Im inclined to suggest the 6x42 Super Sniper I feel like a 6x will work up fairly close and do very well out the the max distance that a .223 will be effective and this scope allows you to dial in correction which is very valuable. Also one can get custom engraved Kenton knobs for them. |
