Which scope would be better to purchase for 50 and 100 yard target shooting--
The Weaver 24x40 t-series  or the 36x40

I have an Anschutz Model 54 Match-28" barrel rifle

While I don't have an Anschutz, I do have a Kimber 82G.  I mounted a Weaver T36 on it.  I understand that some believe the magnification is a bit extreme, but I managed a group measuring .1" at 50 yards.

I do use 25 yard targets at that distance, and 50 yard targets @ 100 yards, but the effort is worth the group sizes I get.

Welcome to the OT Don.

This is a little off your question ,but I hope it helps!I have a 1710D HB 54 action Annie sporter,I tried many scopes on her & bfound the Minox Z5 4-20x50 to be the best bank for the buck.I shoot on average with no wind .75" @ 100yrds using Eley black box & Wolf both in 40grn.

The Minox Schotts glass is hands down better than any Weaver scope glass. You will give up a little magnification, but even @ 100yrds I don't think it will be that much.

This is just my .02cents but I hope it helps.
