Whose death do I remember most.
Our supply clerk, of all people, stepped on a mine, on the day of the ceasefire for Desert Storm. The same day his son was born. He stands out among all others for some reason, and I think I know why. In our home station, long before we deployed, some jerk said to him"Your just a supply guy, not a real solder" He always was a Solder, just as every clerk, cook and 'supply guy' is. My rucksack was over weighted with ammo, grenades and claymore mines........each item was issued to me by the 'supply guy', he made sure I had the tools of my trade. So while you remember the guys who boast the life of the combat arms branches, remember who gave us our.......everything. You were ALL Solders, you all wore the uniform. I will remember all of you until the day I join you. Especially the guy who was "only supply" CPL James Miller Supply Clerk A Brave Solder and Fallen Father |

I lost my "Ranger Buddy" when he went on an EOD mission in the first Gulf War. 1 man of the 5 survived, and he stated the last thing he remembered was the SSG saying "OH SH*T"
I miss my friend, and think of him every military remembrance day, and most days that go by, he crosses my mind.
