Hi,
I just registered in this forum after a lot of reading last night. I am looking to purchase a high quality pair of 10x roofs under $1000.00. They MUST have great eye relief, as I am an eyeglass wearer and a closed interpupillary distance 57mm or under. Also a close focus of 10ft or under. Can you please suggest some binos in this range that really have a great solid quality feel in your hands? I had owned the Vortex Stokes Broadwing 10x42 for 2 years, but they were stolen. They had a GREAT quality feel in hands for a bino made in China! Thanks! |

You have some great choices in your price range. If you want to save some money try the ZEN ED2. If you want a great all around binocular from a great company, look at the Vortex Razor. Meopta Meostars are fantastic glass at their price point and built like a tank. SWFA will help you out whichever route you take.
There are some Swarovski SLC NEUs on the Sample List a little over your price range, but frankly the above binoculars compete pretty well with them.
I don't wear glasses, but know people that do that use all of the above recommendations. I am not sure about the interpupillary distances for the above models. As far as "solid quailty feel," I think the Vortex and Meopta models have a great fit and finish, but the Zens have the best image-per-dollar ratio.
Good luck.
