I have an older Knight MK85 Muzzleloader that the breechplug is stuck in. I have tried and tried to get it out and letting it soak in penetrating oil, heating it, impact, nothing will budge it. I called Knight years ago and they said they could do anything other than possible drill it out and replace the plug with a 209 conversion...... well they've closed now and I cant find a 209 conversion for a .50cal MK85 anywhere. Does anyone know of a place that still has them or have a suggestion on something else to try to see if I can get the plug out?

Don't know if you're aware that Knight was recently bought by an investment firm and plans to suit up production.

Stuck breech plugs can be a real bitch. Sounds like you have tried the usual methods. Have you tried Kroil or Liquid Wrench yet ?

Just for the heck of it you should send Green Mountain Rifle Barrels a call to see if they have a replacement barrel if things get all fugged up.

You could ask the question about the barrel at modernmuzzleloader.com . There are parts for sale on Gunbroker , though usually with a M-L the barrel is about the 1st to go.
