Hi,
Can someone recommend a Weaver or Picatinny style scope base that DOES NOT raise the scope too high offf the barrel.  I have a Winchester Mod. 70 and I  would like to keep my cheek on the stock.
I have a G-Force mount on my Classic stainless and it is too high, even with low rings.  I can't get the proper weld.
Thanks,
Brian

What rings are you using? I have found regular weaver bases and the low burris zee rings are usually pretty low. the millet bases might be a bit lower.

this wont help much because i have leupold standards, and im using a 32mm scope, but the point is that im about as low and i can get.

Thanks for the reply.

On my classic, the Leupold base and low rings were a good height but I couldn't get the scope back far enough for good eye relief.

sounds like either your scope needs more eye relief or you need extensions on the rings. what caliber of rifle are we talking here??

I thought about using a low extended ring on the front with a reversible front base but I'm not sure how far back over the action I can go.

Standard Weaver bases and rings have always been the lowest I could find. Their low ring is too low for most scopes including common 3-9x40 models.

i had to use mediums on my 22-250 and they barely fit. weaver is a step off of the normal, there low is everybody else's super low and their medium is everbodies low etc..
