This has probably been directly addressed or indirectly adressed before but here it is,  "STRAIGHT OUT, "  are ACOGS overpriced, for whatever reason ???

Judging from their sales and popularity, it think not.

They may be for mall ninjas and the low budget tacticool market.  But not for the markets for which they were designed.

Well said TopBrass.  ACOG are worth every penny.  You get what you pay for!

I have three ACOG's quite frankly they are worth what they cost and yea I know its a lot but they do some things that nothing else does.  You really have to have a professional need for one to be able to justify the expense.  There is very little that is as compact, rugged and effective. You do not have to turn them on and they need no batteries.  My 1.5x TA442 is a hell of a lot more accurate and deadly than my Aimpoint Comp M4s.

They may seem overpriced, until you use one.   My two 2x20's are great and have never needed anything aside from the real early unit I had.  They both preform each and every time and have never asked for a battery.
I like my Comp 4 and my EO-Tech but my favorite AR wears a mini acog.

I gotta agree, my 3x is very impressive.  I cannot get over how good the glass quality is.

.

Well :
I listened to all of you and all of your advice!
I was kind of leaning toward ACOGS or the new
1.5 -6 Elcan.
My money spent now and my vote went to ACOGS.
I am including a couple of pictures from Photobucket.
Just double click and it will open the picture up as well
as take you to some pictures of my collections.

I always thought pictures make a post more interesting.  I hope this does that.

Thanks !
Very Much !

I had a bunch of them up on my sight but then a guy suggested that having them there might subject me to theft.

Now that I think about it, I am not sure that's true ?

I would like to put more up and probably will.
If you want to look again, I think I'll go ahead and post them again

ACOG's are pretty nice but not perfect. Not even close at that matter. Without making a huge story out of it I will tell you I have seen plenty of them fog up from moisture in humid areas from training in Luisiana and one or two have problems in Iraq. One had the lens crack when it was dropped on to some cement from about 10' going up a tower.  But it was still funtionable because it only cracked partly.

I guess everything has it's limmitation's when it comes to durability. I can say something I think is very funny. We had a soldier buy one of those cloned ACOG's off ebay that went through the entire deployment with no issues. It went through some abuse to. I have no idea who made it or where it came from.

Cheers,
RiP
