NASCAR Will Give Sprint Cup Pole and Race Winners Turnbull Manufactured Firearms at Texas Motor Speedway
Bloomfield, NY -- Turnbull Manufacturing Company will be providing commemorative firearms to the winners at the April and November 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races at Texas Motor Speedway.
Turnbull Manufacturing has created three pairs of Turnbull 45 Colt style single action revolvers with 5 ½" barrels, and (pre-ban elephant) ivory grips. These pistols are custom engraved with a modified Colt factory 'A' pattern, with crossed checkered flags on the front of the frame, the State of Texas outline on the breech ball, and the Texas Star on loading gate. All the pistols will be highly polished and appear as the original Colt pistols did in the late 1800s, utilizing specialized finishing processes that have been perfected by Turnbull. These pistols' will feature a carbona blue finish while the frame, gate and hammer will be bone and charcoal color case hardened, along with a nitre blue finish on all the screws and pins. One pair of pistols will be on display at Texas Motor Speedway throughout the 2010 race season, and will be fired off during the Victory Lane celebrations in true Texas style. At the end of the race season, Texas Motor Speedway will auction off its pair of Turnbull manufactured pistols. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Speedway's children's charity. Per tradition, Texas Motor Speedway presents a set of pistols to the race winner at two of its marquee events, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races. One pair will be awarded to the winner of the Samsung Mobile 500 on April 18 and another pair will be for the winner of the AAA Texas 500 on November 7. Each pair of pistols will be presented in a custom-fitted, glass panel front handgun display case. Additionally, Turnbull Manufacturing has created two Turnbull model 1886 deluxe take down rifles which will be presented to the pole winners for the April and November 2010 Sprint Cup Series races at Texas Motor Speedway. These Turnbull rifles feature a 26" half round, half octagon barrel in 45-70 caliber. Each rifle will feature a gold colored inlaid panel on the butt stock and will be custom engraved with the Texas Motor Speedway logo, and the tag line "The Great American Speedway." All the Turnbull manufactured guns will have custom serial numbers to signify them as unique trophies for these NASCAR Sprint Cup Series events. Keith VanOrman, Turnbull Manufacturing Company president, will present the commemorative firearms in the winner's circle along with company founder, Doug Turnbull.
