17 to 2 SanDiego...... JEESH what a nightmare.... Glad I missed that one. Yeah, I think we may have seen the best from Chipper already. But you can never be sure. It takes more than a season to evaluate. My biggest concern is his health issues. His eye sight is still fantastic, and his reflexes are still great as well. But when a player gets to the point that he can't stay healthy, that is a sign of decline. Chipper hasn't been even 90% for almost 3 years now.

Those loses can be thrown out.  I watched the Tigers and they were riddled by errors I can't take that.

Twins look great.  I think it is great for baseball when a small market can compete.  I hated the Metrodome though.  Baseball needs to be played outside or with a recractible roof.

Not the best place for a baseball game but there were a lot of good memories at the dome....

Agree Mike, great memories.  The doom was/is a love/hate relationship.  Opponents hated it and fans loved it because of noise.  Some fans thought it was 2nd rate compared to other ball parks.  Agree LC, baseball is better on grass.

I got to go to one game at the Metrodome about 20 years ago; saw a guy get sucked out of one of those "do not open" doors after the game.  There was some pressure in that place.  I watched the game on ESPN the other day.  New park looks great.  The new baseball stadiums have so much style.  New football stadiums leave me cold, like the new Cowboys stadium; very neat place, but it's "sterile".

Great win last night for the Braves against the Phillies. McLouth was long over due. The Phillies will have to get deep into games with their starting pitching if they are going anywhere this year.

34 years ago today, I was at a Dodgers baseball game.  It was the first game of a double header with the Cubs.  I didn't get to go to to many Dodgers games for numerous reasons, not the least of these was that I was the youngest of seven, and my Dad worked 3 jobs just to keep a roof over our heads.  Next big reason was my Dad was a Pirates fan.  This day in Chavez ravine would change that.  In the middle of the game, between at bats, the Dodgers were due up and a couple of yahoos ran out on to the field.  Everybody was standing there watching these two wondering what was going on. One guy pulls out a U.S. flag an laid it on the ground the other came up with a match an they were going to set it on fire.  Rick Monday, the Cubs center fielder at the time ran up from behind them an snatched it away from the two.  Tommy Lasorda was the third base coach for the Dodgers then, not the manager. ( He would become manager the next year. ) When Lasorda realized what these guys were trying to do he went friggin' nuts.  Had he remembered to get a bat he would have pull a Gotti on them even before Gotti was a crime boss.  LOL!
He was also from my Dads home state of Pennsylvania.  Rick Monday was traded to the Dodger the next year.  My Dad became a Dodgers fan after that.  There are many Dodgers fans who know the story of Rick Monday saving the flag, but most don't remember that he "wasn't a Dodger" when he did it.  Tommy Lasorda and Rick Monday are both Icons of  the Dodgers now.  I thought I'd share that for no particular reason other than it's a great baseball memory we shouldn't forget!  IMHO!
