Does anyone know when Gamo starts officially importing this lineup of scopes ? Will they service models that were brought in under Swaro and Legacy Sports?
Thanks in advance

Sam., I called GAMO directly yesterday and I was told that their repair department is now accepting scopes for repair at their Missouri location. They will then be shipped to Austria for work. New scopes should be hitting the dealers in full force shortly.

Has anybody heard if Gamo will bring in the 1" scopes, CL or KX? The North American Kahles site only shows the CSX and KT models. I hope they bring in more CL's, I'm looking for a 2-7x36 4A w/MZ. Starting to think I might have to settle for less. |

I spoke to Penny today at Gamo, she is the Kahles rep. and said that she did not know what lines will be available. She has my number and claims that she will call me when she finds out more. - we'll see??? I will post as soon as I hear from her.

The Kahles rep I talked to at the SHOT show said they would no longer be producing 1" scopes, period. They said they didn't make enough money off the 1" scopes to make it worthwhile to continue producing them. The only scopes they had at SHOT were the CSX and K series. |

Thanks for the info Ted. Guess I'll have to snatch a CL before they're all gone, or maybe two.

That 45.3' FOV on the 2.5x10 is fantastic for a hunting scope, a little larger than my Zeiss Diavari even.
I own 3 Kahles and if I were in the market would purchase a Kahles over Zeiss or Swarovski even if the same price.

Pardon my ignorance but is this the Gamo in Ft. Lauderdale, FL or the Mutinational-Gamo from Spain that is going to take over service and sales for Kahles? I assume that it is the one in Florida. I don't believe they have the expertise to repair Austrian scopes. So that is why everything is being returned to Austria for repair. No wonder they can't afford to build and sell anything but 30mm scopes in North America. If every o-ring leak or slight turret misalignment has to go back to Austria for attention.
The Master Race needs to get into the 21st Century reality of world wide technical competance, even if we don't do it exactly, precisely, minutely the way that the Master Race does.
BTW, I own two of their scopes. Edited by Oldtrader3 - March/25/2010 at 23:23 |

Gamo in Florida is part of the Gamo multi-national group. Kahles scopes used to get fixed at the SONA facillity but that has changed. I have had/have 4 of their scopes and never had even the slightest problem.

They were not cheap back then either, but they offered a less expensive and very compelling option to Zeiss, S&B, etc.
For the time being, let's not jump to too many conclusions. Give Gamo a chance to properly develop their relationship with Kahles and set up service and support. Then we'll see how thing shake out. Kahles is easily one of my favourite scope makers and I am glad to see them represented in North America again. It is a good thing for the consumers no matter how you slice it. ILya

+1000 easily one of my favorite brands...I just bought a 3.5-10x50 CL and it has amazing optics. I contacted Gamo last week and was very pleased with what they had to say and the way they are handling things.
