I was at HF yesturday....picked up a few things from the mailers they send out all the time.  Saw this thing UF.  It was very small and It didn't look very durable. But for the price it may work once....and sometimes in the right situations it would have paid for itself that one time.

You could buy a power inverter and plug into your truck/car and have more and power more reliability for a similar price.

I picked up a 3500w continuous/ 4000w peak generator for $150 last summer.  Local auto parts store had a truck load of them and wanted them gone.  $200 off reg price.

That is cheap for a gennie. I wouldn't want to have to depend on it, but it could well come in handy for that price.

I live in Hurricane country, got 2 gennies, a 7500 watt and a 6500 watt "continuous, not peak" and a 55 gallon drum of stabil treated gasoline in my shop.

Be prepared. Salute

When Ike hit we didn't have power for 6 days. My shop "which has it's own service but sits on the same 2 1/2 lots as my house got power back in 8 hours because the shop is on the same part of the grid as the Police dept." had power restored sooner so I made 2 very heavy duty cords and added male plugs to both ends. I shut off the main to the house and used the cords to back-flow power "40 amps worth" into the house. I was able to energize our kitchen and living room that way. I also have shop power run to our screened in porch in the back yard off our bedroom so we were able to use a window unit and stay cool at night.

I bought the Gennies after Ike when the unsold ones went on sale for cheap. I saw little gennies going for big bucks in the first days after Ike. 3 months later the unsold ones were taking up a lot of room at Lowes and Home Depot.

The double male ended cords are a good idea if you can leech power from somewhere else. It will energize every plug on the breaker. Thinking

If God didn't want me to play with it, he'd of made my arms shorter.

Riding as in surfboard???  Next door neighbor in Florida used to do that all the time...till he got hit by a huge piece of debris and broke his leg.  Funny, I didn't feel the least bit sorry for him!

We normally go out in a 4x4 loaded with supplies and saws to get trees off the road.  Dads the VP of technical operations at the local power coop. and we try to help out.  Funny thing is everyone thinks that because of that we get our power on first. its actually the opposite, he knows we will live without it and puts us back on the list.....

For $79, that is a good find. It could keep the RV lit and water running for a few days.

Lost power for 16hrs during our second big snow.  So what watt generator would I need to run my deep well pump(220v)and fridge?

Probably a 5KW gennie to be safe.  Depends on how many horsepower the well pump is and how deep it is.  Can take quite a surge to start them.  My 6200W gennie doesn't have any problem starting my 250ft deep 2.5 horsepower pump.  I have forced hot air Heat. If you have a Hydronic system the circulating pumps might be a problem if you try and run the well and heat together.

THANKS Bud!  Well's 200' w/a 1 3/4 hp pump.  No circulators.  Both heating systems are electric free.
