Any feedback regarding the Weaver Torque Wrench? I can't tell from the SWFA product description the torque range this wrench is capable of. From the picture looks like up to 80 in-lbs??
http://swfa.com/Weaver-Optics-Accessory-P46129.aspx Is it worth having for $49.95 |

Haven't used it, but it looks to be a better design than the Wheeler I own and use.
80 in-lbs would be quite high, and not entirely necessary. |

I'd be quite surprised if it wasn't a rebadged version of Wheeler FAT wrench.

I wouldn't be too surprised if it's a "Made In China" clone...it works like a FAT wrench and looks like it except the Weaver looks thinner and goes up to 80 in/lbs whereas the FAT only goes up to 60-65in/lb...

What do you need the extra 20in/lbs for? Wheelers tried and proven aint it?

I don't know either...if it went to 95in/lbs it would make more sense so it covers that diagonal action screw on the Ruger M77...

Normally about 55 bucks for the Wheeler. But reading the reviews on it, I'm not too impressed. It seems they had a design change and since that there has been quite a few problems with them, but if my memory serves me most negative reviews were with the cheap bits that come with it.
I think I'll have to order the Weaver and check it out. Edited by GetSome - March/24/2010 at 22:50 |

I recently bought one and the all problems mentioned with the wrench on another website have been fixed up.

Good to hear. This is looking like a promising option for a cheap torque wrench.
