Two questions, I just bought a Howa 1500 bull barrel .308 and am trying to mount my SS 10X42 scope. Question number one is... Will the Burris XTreme kit for the Rem 700 fit it? And question two is....Will the medium height be high enough for bolt clearance?

Well welcome to  the O.T.! I did some cross-referencing and I am pretty sure those bases will work. As far as ring height goes I pretty sure medium  will be fine. I have a 10x S.S. on a Savage, but the base is a one piece Millet rail that used to sit in Burris XTR LOW rings with no problems. But it is a different rifle, thus different bolt throw, plus a different base. I would really suggest giving SWFA a call on Monday, they can point you in the direction.
If it is tourist season, why can't we shoot them?

Thanks, guys. Went ahead and bought the burris Xtreme rings 30mm and the burris bases as well. I'll let you know how they fit.

CFII has probably mounted more scopes in a month than most of us will in a lifetime. Give him a call. I went with the EGW 20 MOA cant base and Burris low rings for my 700.
