I am down to 2 choices:
Leica ER 2.5-10x42
or
Zeiss Varipoint 2.5-10x42
Both have top glass and hyrophobic coating. Is the illunimated reticle worth the extra $ on the Zeiss? Aside from illumination, which is better all around?

I will add that this is primarily for east coast deer hunting, max range 300-400 yards.

Zeiss would be my bet, but I haven't handled a Leica yet.
I have Leica binos and couldn't be happier with the glass (wish the binos were about 10 ounces lighter, but that's just whining on my part.) I don't see any glass beating Zeiss for low light and water shedding, I have the Diavari 3-12 and it is almost night vision. Almost. |

Freedom is something you take.
Respect is something you earn. Equality is something you whine about not being given. |
