I'm looking into buying a mount for a Bushnell elite 4200 3-9X40. I'm not sure if I should buy one that's 30mm or 1 inch. It doesn't say on their website that I could see. Thanks.

The Bushnell Elite 4200 3-9X40 is indeed a 1" tube so you will want to buy 1" rings.

Look at the SWFA SS line of rings, they are 30mm but have 1' inserts so you will have rings to accomidate that scope and if you change in the future the 30mm tubes as well.
