If they do not say specifically, I'd go to a 100-yard range and hang a target with 1-inch squares and know for certain what your scope does.

Also, be mindful of the magnification, it will need to be at a certain setting to be consistent and accurate.

The reticles are designed for drop compensation in general according to zero at 100 or 200 yards with either a common or a magnum cartridge.

My local range Is a max 200yds... So I am unable to follow nikon's suggestions...

So if I shoot at 100yds and its say 5 inches high(2nd circle). Then at 300 yds... My drop would be the same 5"???

Could I do this with my leupold zero point as well??

Thanks for schooling me gentlemen

Bullet drop increases with range, as the speed of the projectile decreases with range so it is a graduated scale and compounds accordingly.

Sorry...bad wording on my part...
I meant the the point of aim would be say approx 5moa below zero... So I can match these numbers to my load...
Which is usually hornady superformance 130 or 140gr

Look at the specifics for your caliber. The type of cartridge you use.

These charts may help you a tad.

100 yrds zero you should be around 2 inches high

300 yrds+/- 8,
400 yrds+/- 19.5,
500 yrds +/- 38.5

These are average values but should be kill zone.

ok I think I got it figured out---   I found a chart from burris(same as the pentax)

and for the nikon I got these numbers from my Zero Point
1st o is 2 moa lower than  x
2nd o is 5
3rd is 8
4th is 11
  so with a 200 yd zero it would be
1= 300 yds 6"drop-----2x3=6
2=400 yds 20"     ---5x4=20
3=500 yds 40" drop---8 x 5=40

That should be about as close as you can get without them giving the actual.
