I would really like to get my scope lower, but want a strong mounting system and preferably a one piece base. |

You might could switch to lower rings and move it down a weee bit, but not a whole lot lower, no.

If I went with something like the Talley LWs would it get me lower? Those rings are low rings I think the base may be part of the problem.

I'm not sure what your ring height is but TPS low rings are .785. The base you have is about the lowest one they make. See if you can find the specs on PRI bases and see what they measure. They may be a little shorter than your Warne base but probably not as much as you would like. ELG aluminum bases seem pretty low if you want to go with aluminum. What kind of stock is that you have on your rifle?

I've noticed that Warne rings are a bit higher than the others I've used.

Send a PM to Tbrake12, he's been doing a lot of research on trying to find a lower set up.

It's the hogue stock that comes on the SPS. I have been thinking that a differant stock may also be a fix. I'm not sure that lower rings will help. If you look at the second picture the power adjustment is close to the base not much wiggle room.
