Well, these have been available now for a bit. I haven't heard any info though yet. It looks like it's a good deal for the money. Comes with a 30x wide angle eyepiece as well as 20-60 zoom. If you get the kit, you also get a tripod and hard case. Makes you wonder though, how good could eyepieces be.
Also, why is it HD? The golden ring binoculars call themselves HD because they have fluorite elements to reduce color fringing. I can't find anywhere that the Kenai has any sort of fluorite or extra-low dispersion glass. You'd think, if it had it, they'd be advertising it, as that would be a big selling point. I'll be disappointed in Leupold if they call this HD solely based on "multi-coated" lenses. Nevertheless, I'm interested to see one and find out more about them. |
