Pictures coming soon.

A 16 inch barrel, on a bolt gun.  Then again, velocity is something I am trying to not get too much of, makes sense to not have unwanted barrel - causing unwanted velocity.

More to come.

This sounds like fun.   What scope did you have in mind,  i'm thinking  TR232G Devil?

For scope, I "needed" a 10X HD, so that is going on it first, for load development.

For hunting next season, hogs mostly, I am still uncertain what it will wear long-term.

I started to get one a few years ago, always wished I had.  Looking forward to hear how it performs...

A few guys do the brass, a few companies make the die to cut and re-contour a raw .223 case.

I started with 100 brass, will see how they load tomorrow.  The purpose of the rig is subsonic, so it should be rough on brass.  And no close friends own one, so my brass will all be fire-formed to this gun, that too should help.

Report coming shortly.

Why is that?

it works both ways, if you dont use enough powder you cause pressure and if you use to much you can cause pressure as you well know. in this case i would guess its low pressure, your using a big bullet with a minimal amount of fast burning powder. i may be totally wrong, it could be because of how you have to work the brass to form it to accept a .308 diam bullet too. im not sure one this one.

I'm new to the dedicated subsonic game, but my understanding is the pressure is considerably lower than running at much faster speeds.

Also, the brass will be fire-formed, so it doesn't get put through a FL sizer each time, thus extending the life of the brass.  After the first shot, it is exact chamber dimensions.

None of this, at the moment, is experience, that comes tomorrow and Saturday.
