I don't think it is yet released, but there is mention of it on a SHOT 2010 review somewhere around here.

Thanks for the link. I have another question. I have an STAG AR-15 with a flat top and a flip up iron sights. I found a great deal in my opinion on a Burris Combo Fullfiled II 3x9 and a pair of 10x32 Landmark Binoculars for $190. I was going to mount the scope with a pair of Burris Zee high Mount rings. I laid the scope in the bottom half of the rings to check it out but at 9x looking through the scope is pretty awkward. I have around $220 tied up with this combo and would like to stay in that range. My question is, is there anything out there to mount this scope that I can see through but doesn't cost a fortune or my other option is to go with a Red Dot like the Vortex SPARC or the Strikfire which is in my price range and I believe Koshkin has used. I will mainly use the AR-15 for Target shooting, Hog and Coyote Hunting out to about 200 yds. I would appreciate any help from you guys

For 200 yard shots, you don't want a red dot - or not a 5MOA dot.
I had one of the first Strikefires, it failed the first time in the field. I sent it back and was promptly shipped a new, "second gen" Strikefire, it never failed. I sold it, lack of confidence. It's not a bad optic, but it isn't ideal for target or hunting, it is best for CQB or the like. Hogs are tough and require well placed rounds. How is looking through the scope "awkward"? |

My head is almost sidewards when looking through it at 9x, maybe because of the eye relief of the scope. I would think raising the scope would help but I'm not sure.

Buy this instead. It will give you the proper eye relief and height
for putting a scope on an AR.

The ones you have are probably a little low and are not allow you to put the scope forward enough. The eyepiece should be about even with the edge of the receiver where the charging handle is. |

Based on your pictures I had the eyepiece in the right spot but your scopes do look quite a bit taller with the Burris AR sight mount than what I had. Ill try it thanks for your help.

With you current setup, close your eyes, gt a good cheek weld, then open your eyes and tell me what you see.
Be sure you solve the right problem, or you'll be solving it again soon. You did say you were mounting rings straight on the rail, it could be too low - or maybe something else. |

Hiya...seems the topic was about the Vortex SPARC but became a mount string. I am still debating between a red dot and classic glass scopes. I am seeking more feedback on whether the Vortex is a viable option for primarily target work or are the red dots mainly for shooting larger (people) targets?
