Hi,
Really need a scope for .223 and 30mm tube diameter (allready have rings for 30mm) for shooting paper and a little hunt varmints. Main problem is I'm on budget. 200$ max. One can be BSA Tactical Mil-Dot Rifle Scope 30mm Tube 6-24x 44mm Side Focus Glass Etched Mil-Dot Reticle MatteIt suits me great! Will it hold zero on .223rem? Thank You Very Much! Bests, Andis |

BSA Sweet 223 is a decent scope. Mine held zero great while I was using it.

Not that I have used on my 223. Other than the BSA which I took off I only have one other scope I have experience with for my 223. My AR currently wears a Bushnell Elite 3200 10x40 Mil-dot mounted with a Burris PEPR, it works great and I have no reason to change it. clear and tracks great. There is one on the sample list for sale for a killer deal right now. Edited by SVT_Tactical - January/28/2010 at 08:48 |

i would buy a 1" tube with better quality glass instead of throwing money away with any bsa, barfska etc.etc. my brother in law has a bsa 6.5x24x and the damn thing is so cloudy past 12x its unusable unless you have blindingly bright sunshine, and even then its not to good.

Mueller 8-32x44 target dot, approx. $200 excellent, clear as my Nikon Monarch. Mounted
on a savage 223 so far no problems, however note it is a 30mm tube so your rings will
be slightly more expensive..

I've got 2 Bushnell Trophy 3-9X40's (on a Model 70 .223 WSSM & Model 70 .243) and I really like them...and they run about $100-$110, which would leave you with money to spare for new rings like pyro said.

Thanks to all! ;)
Well, most of time I'll shoot paper till 500m, so I need at least 16x power (25 would be excellent, but 32 too much for cheap scope). Of course, I know I need a good scope for those purposes, I have MARK4 on my .308 SAKO long ranger, I know how good scope looks like. Just currently I'm out of money and time can't wait, range is waiting for me... :D Thanks again, please continue with good proposals! |

I use my Mueller 8-32x44 at 24 power most of the time, don't dismiss the 32 power due to cost, clarity is about on a par with my Nikon Monarch.
