    Posted: January/27/2010 at 07:46

I am looking to put a new scope on my knight krb7 muzzleloader, which is stainless, so I want a silver scope.  I was looking around and found what looks like a great deal on either a Simmons Aetec Scope (2.8-10 by 44) or Simmons Prohunter (3-9 by 40).

My questions are, these are both rifle scopes, can I use them without any problems on my muzzleloader.  Also, how do these two scope compare to one another.  Finally, are they a decent quality scope (I'm on a budget).  The prices are 79 (aetec) and 54 dollars (prohunter)

Thanks for your help!

You shouldn't have a problem with the Aetec. We have pretty good luck witht those scopes especially for the price.

Don't get too caught up with getting a silver scope.  There is a very slim chance that it will actually be the same color.  Matte actually looks really good on stainless.  I would concentrate more on quality of scope.  Simmons are ok but I always lean towards Bushnells for scopes in that price range.  You can get a NIB Bushnell Legend off of ebay for around $100.  Well worth the few extra bucks.
