id look at a nikon buckmaster or a vortex diamondback, 4.5x14 nikon and 4x12 vortex. really in all reality though a good 3x9 is plenty for 200yds.

Welcome to Optics Talk, I would suggest spending a little more and buying a Zeiss. I have 2 now and like them alot. If you really want something for 300.00 then I would suggest the Vortex below. Ive not owned one , I have heard other members stating they were quite happy with them for the money and I would buy one myself and probably will someday....Other members should be coming along to help you with other ideas..Good Luck to You!!

If you are shooting something like a Coyote that takes you in one direction.  If crows, ground hogs and the like then a slightly differant direction; like the Super Sniper.

That Zeiss is on sale elsewhere and with the SWFA 110% price match is @ 360.00. Call SWFA.  You will never regret it.

$360?

I've heard of deals going for $400.  110% would then be $390.  $390 does seem to be a bargain though.

From my shopping, I've been seeing Monarchs go for essentially what Buckmasters are priced at.  SWFA price matched a 5-20x44 Monarch for me at a great deal.

My Bad? Math in my head error. I thought for some reason 10% of 400.00 was 40.00 and would come out to 360.00. Just go figure. I never could figure MOA anyway. That's why I shoot .257WBY!! No holdover required to 400yds on a 6inch target and anything farther your just a shooter not a hunter!! Go figure again. Just my opinions though. Scope it don't dope it'.

HA ha.  I did the same mental error on a recent price match "head calculation".

BTW...I haven't seen the Ziess for $400 in my limited searches.  Just seen talk.

But ya...with my 25-06 and .264 win mag...site for 1.5 high at 100 and forget about bullet drop to 300 on most anything edible.
