Chris, I'm hoping either you or ILya will get a chance to look over these new Minox scopes.

Already have and they are really nice.  Should hurt the Conquest pretty bad.

Hmmmm, maybe that's why we're seeing the conquest discounted.

Rumor was that Leopold was introducing a new long- range tac scope too. No show?
If it is tourist season, why can't we shoot them?

If Zeiss was smart, they'd start putting the Lotutec coating on the Conquest. I'd buy a new one for that.

Good idea, Jason and keep the price the same.

They wouldn't be able to make them fast enough. Look at how much attention the 4200 gets for the rainguard alone.

From a marketing standpoint it would hurt their Diavari sales I'm sure.

From where I stand, the Diavari is bought by people who want the absolute best. I think these people would still buy the Diavari, but for everyone else, looking at scopes in the price range of $4-800, it could be the feature that makes the difference. It is still a large jump in price from any Conquest to a Diavari. But I could be totally off base. I'm certainly not a marketing guru.

Chris, what was your impression of the Bushnell fusion rangefinding binocular. Not that I'd expect them to be better than a Geovid, but may be interested in one for the old man.

Above average bino, we will retail them under $800.

You could very well be right as maybe Lotu-Tec perhaps isn't the deal breaker anyway. I had forgotten how much loot was between a Conquest and a Diavari. I will say however, that I've stopped trying to figure out what motivates the German mindset regarding what American hunters want and need. Puzzling at times to say the least.

I'll second that. Have they ever seen a real life american before?

Only pictures best I can tell. The problem is they build what they think is best, not what say guys like you and I might tell them would be best for American hunters. They almost seem offended if you tell them otherwise.
