Just wanted to brag a little about shooting my first deer with a pistol. Was using a remington xp 100 7mm br that I bought this summer. Was using Nosler 140 gr. accubond bullets that I reloaded. Shot a doe at about 75 yards with one shot. She went about 10 yards and fell dead. Weight in at 175 lbs. dressed. I can shoot 1/2 inch groups with this pistol at 100 yards all day.
Guess I'll try the Savage Striker 243 pistol that I also bought this summer next. Doesn't shoot as good as the remington but still gets good groupings at 100 yds.

Thanks for letting me brag a little,
Bill

Excellent.  I have only taken one doe with a pistol (.357) but was a rush.

Good job, Bill!  My brother has an XP100 in 7BR as well, and it is indeed a shooter!  I don't care for the looks of the brown plastic stock it wears.  During the final years of XP100 production, Big Green started using laminated wood stocks that looked much better to my eyes.  Nevertheless, those "hand rifles" would really shoot!

Hand rifles is right. They make me nervous. But they are some killin machines. I'll stick with my Dessert Eagle 357, but great job with your "pistol". It is a great way to hunt.

Welcome to the club.  Killed my 3rd deer (nice doe) with a pistol a week ago Sun. morning; first kill with this pistol, a S&W 657 .41 Magnum.  About 50 yds. - put her down in her tracks.  And you're right it is a rush.  Never did take to those "hand rifles".  Gotta buddy that hunts with an old T/C Contender in .35 rem.  That thing is a deer killin SOG.  Again welcome to the club.

If I hadnt seen this happen I wouldn' believe it but we were squirrel hunting about a month ago and I had my walther SP22 and my buddy had his Browning Buckmark.  A doe ran across the road where we where and stopped about 20yds away. He aimed and fired hitting the thing right between the eyes, dropped dead.

Is it legal to shoot a deer with a rimfire there... from a road, no less?  Was this a public road or a vehicle trail on private property?

My question too!
It is illegal to hunt deer with rimfire or with anything within 50 yds. of the centerline of any federal, state, county or city/township maintained road down here in AR.

It is illegal and thats why I didn't even consider the shot myself.  He doesn't hunt on the club anymore but for other reasons.

Used a S&W mod. 28 with a 6"bbl for my first deer with a revolver. Used a 140gr Speer JHP to take a 8 point buck from 25yds. He took 2 steps and went down.
Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.
