Guys, I'm just trying to expand my knowledge. What is the diference between the Nikon Buckmasters and Nikon Monarch series of scopes? I'm assuming that it may just be better glass with the Monarch OR another coating on the glass of some sorts. Be as technical as you want to be. thanks--Bboy623

I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6!

there are some differences with the zooms as well, all buckmaster scopes are a 3x zoom, thus you have 3x9 4.5x14 and 6x18. the monarchs will all be a 4x zoom, 2.5x10 3x12 4x16 5x20 and 6x24. the glass in the monarch is better as you noted and the coatings are as well. the price of course is different. the monarch is a pretty good scope for the money.

There is no comparison. Monarch all the way! I had a Buckmaster 4x12x50 for one season and wound up selling it. It was like looking thru a tunnel.
