What would be the better choice Leupold vx1 3x9x50 or Weaver 3.5x10x50 grand slam? It will be going on a Browning lever action .270. Does any on else have any more suggestions in the same price range? |

Easy. The Weaver! Built like a tank and all lense surfaces are fully multicoated.
Yes! Bushnell Elite 3200s!!!
If you want a bit better optics and more zoom try the Bushnell Elite 4200s...I presently have 2 on order.
Cheers!

Would the busnell 3200 3x10x50 be a better choice or the weaver 3.5x10x50 grand slam?

They're both pretty solid scopes.
I give it to the Grand Slam due to the fact it's fully multicoated and slightly better magnification. Weaver Grand Slams don't seem to get the respect that they deserve (atleast on here).
Personally, they're almost as good as Bushnell Elite 4200s. They lose out on value and magnification.
Cheers.

Can't answer that one. I haven't seen a scope by that maker where I am (Australia).

Weaver Grand Slam is the better scope for sure. Better lenses and more coatings. Nice adjustments also. Bushnell has Raingaurd though. I believe the Weaver will have better resoloution and a tad brighter than the other two. In legal hunting light they should all work fine though.

The Weaver Grand Slam is a clear and easy winner over both the Leupold VX1 and the Bushnell 3200.

http://swfa.com/Vortex-6-24x50-Crossfire-Rifle-Scope-P43585.aspx if you can live with the higher power range this is a bargain right now. I think you woud like the Weaver but if you can afford to go to the Bushnell 4200 I really like their 4-16x40 and I just bought one of those, If I went weaver I would also probably bump up the power range to this .

Leupold's VX-3 is a really nice scope. For the price, the VXI isn't so hot. The VX-3 3X to 9X is about $120 higher, it might or might not be in your price range.
