I know that when all lenses are centered you are getting the best image possible out of your scope. I am wanting to know if new scopes come from the factory with the lenses already centered or is it necessary to dial down the scope adjustments and count out the clicks and then divide and reset to the half way count? If I do screw the adjustments down, how hard do I screw them down? Can I hurt my adjustments by screwing them down too tight? I also read that I could hold a mirror in front of the objective lens and then dial the adjustments until the crosshairs in the eyepiece and the ones on the mirror are brought together into one image and then your lenses were centered. Does that really work? THANKS FOR ANY HELP

As long as you are exactly behind the scope at a 90 degree angle the mirror method will get you with in a click or two of the count method. I tried it 10 times in a row just to see if it actually workd. The most I was off was 2 clicks.
