I am just using this pistol for targets no more the 100 feet out.  And more like 30 to 50 feet.  What is the best scope for this type of pistol?

I'd recommend staying away from a scope on that if you need help the crimson trace laser would be a good suggestion.  When you buy an Encore Pistol in .308 or .243 etc then we are talking scope like a 2x or at most a 4x or a red dot.  Adding a scope to a handgun radically changes the handling characteristics, concealability and practicality of it.

if your using the gun in a competitive event or multiple or groups of target acquisition a laser will be way to slow.

What are you going to mount the scope to?

The answer is none.  Shave the width of the front sight if it is too big.

there are specific mounts for glocks,
most glocks front sights are far to thick and need trimming as silver suggests, to allow the light bars on the rear sight to be utilized, one of the cheapest and best upgrades for glocks, the other is to cut the finger holder of the trigger guard and smooth it back.

Using a laser properly does require some practice, and if unfamiliar with it can cause the shooter some problems.  Requires use of the "iron sights" with the laser as an aid.  Slower???  Not to me...
