Yes, it is the bullet that kills the animal. Would it make a nice target scope - Yes.
Would it make a nice hunting scope.... depends on what you are hunting.
I used an 8,5-25 * 50 for hunting and found it a pain in the ass. The field of view is rather small and I had to constantly re-focus the AO as the animal moved around.
I did shoot 5 springbuck using the scope, so yes you can.
Will I ever take the same scope hunting again... No, not as long as I have the standard 3,5-10 available.
