It will only work at any power if the Reticle is in the first focal plane and not if it is in the 2nd focal plain like the Nikon and most American scopes

My first bullet drop compensating reticle is in a 4X12 Leupold LR. Using it on full power caused for some odd yardages, LOL. My next  BDC is in a Zeiss Conquest the Rapid-Z 600, this is when I learned the better way to use this type of reticle, by adhering to their computer program it gave me the proper magnification  for the bullets trajectory to mirror closely too even (100 yard) increments. Using known trajectory, a tape measure, several rounds, and a range finder it was possible to establish a magnification setting for the 4X12 that matches closely to 100 yard increments. I'm a huge fan of BDC and additionally have a Burris Fullfield II with one and recently ordered a Nitrex with one. Ironically my .204 Ruger wears a 5X20 Monarch with a duplex that I can knock out a varmint at almost any range with just by instinctively (tons of use) knowing how much too hold over and as always the good old Kentucky windage.
