Well I got to try out the Cabela's Lever Action Scope today. My buddy bought one for his gun which is a 30-30 winchester lever action. I didn't see what the model was but it ejects the shells out of the top of the gun. The scope is mounted off to the left side of the rifle. Very alkward feeling. Anyways if anyone is thinking about purchasing one of these, don't even bother. This is one piece of junk IMO. I spent more time trying to look thru it,couldn't find a happy medium. It has 1/4 moa at 100yrds well that's what it said anyways. I need to move up 5" and it moves 10" so I split the difference for the heck of it and finally hit a 2" dot at 100yrds. Scope didn't have hardly any paralax so I could group best of 1.5". The optics are very poor, didn't track worth a crap and the sight picture is hard to get focused in. Stay away from this product!!!!!! |

I'd rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6.

Not to argue about the scope but it might have a lot to do with the mounting
system. It sound rather ackward having the scope mount left of the bore. Good eye alignment would be difficult at best. 1.5 inches at 100 sounds pretty good for a lever gun. |

Yeaf he said he's killed alot of deer with this gun. I'm used to scopes on top and not to the side like that. Trying to get a full picture in that scope was hard as hell.

More than likely mounted on a pre angled-ejection Model 94. I too had found the side mounting extraordinarily awkward on the rifles of acquaintances, so elected instead to avoid the glass and go to an aperture, the lyman 66A.

The best alternative sighting I've found for my M94 is an aperture. I put a dab of white nail polish on the front and it works decent enough.

I bought one of those two for my 45-70. Biggest POS scope I have ever used. I have never seen fisheye so bad as I did with that scope. Only about 15-20% of the center of the scope was actually usable to view through with mine. All the rest was just unfocused and blurry.

I could never get mine to zero properly either. It would never adjust the way it should.

I got rid of that mount because it was just too awkward trying to get a shot on a deer in the woods.I love my old Winchester 94, but only use it when I'm doing a drive in the woods in the North East.
