Ladies and gents, I'm about to buy my first quality scope. I'm on a budget of about $380. I think I can swinga VX II 3-9x50 for 350 or a Nikon 3.5-10x50 for $440 (over budget I know). I looked through a Nikon gold series scope the other day and was stunned at the clarity and brightness. How do the two scopes listed above compare? Thanks for any input. BlueDuck |

Nikon has the better optics, but consider the weight of the Nikon vs. the Leupold. Nikons' are heavy!

Check out the Weaver Grand Slam's, better optics than all you've listed...and inside your budget. I think the Weaver is the most underated scope on here. Many will agree.
