I have a 4200 that sat on 270 WSM and than a 300 Win Mag, with probably a couple hundred rounds through each rifle.  No problems.  I have another 4200 that is on a 375 H&H.  It has at least 100+ rounds through it, no problem.

I have a 4200 2.5-10 x 50 on a Browning 300 Ultramag  and a 4200 2.5x10x40 on the stainless 300 Weather by..Each has seen about 300 rounds and no issues..Both are optically very clear and bright ..

Regarding optical quality, I think the 4200s are amazingly good.  I have compared mine to VX-IIIs, Sightrons, Weavers and Nikons, and the 4200 is better.  One of my friends has a Zeiss and it may just be a bit better optically than the 4200, but the 4200 has a wider sight picture and greater mangification range.  I really don't think there is a better scope for less than double the 4200's price.
