I am looking for an air gun rated scope, and have done some research. I came up with the following that seemed interesting without going for the Leupold VX-II 3-9x32 EFR. Any opinions on the scopes below?

Hawke Air Max 4-12X40 ($155)
Nikko Sterling Gold Crown AirKing 4-12x42 (about $150 from UK, $67 in silver on ebay)
Swift 6.5-20x44mm High Recoil Scope 686M ($175)

I know nothing about air guns but nearly every report I've read on the Gold Crown wasn't pretty.

yeah, I was thinking of adding the Bushnell 5-15x40 3200 AO to the list as it is airgun rated...Twice the price, but seems to be a nice scope from the reviews.

What is a Multi-X reticle? Anything like the Nikkoplex?

I'd go with the Hawke, good product and excellent service.

1911, thanks for the suggestion. I guess I may have gotten a little impatient, but I did get a Hawke...well, and a Swift.

;-)
