I posted a similar topic in the Tactical Scopes section, but figured I would here as well for those who do not go to the other section.
Has anybody heard of the Kruger scopes or seen one yet? Says U.S. manufactured, 30mm tubes, hydrophobic coatings, 4 inch eye relief for all magnifications, 5x erectors, etc. http://www.krugeroptical.com/k5.asp They have relatively small FOV compared to others so I'm guessing that is why they got the good eye relief...if they have good glass, really are made in the USA, and priced decent I think they might do very well. Being in Oregon, maybe they are from an offshoot of unhappy Leupold employees. |

Me neither. But very interesting. Especially the 1.5-8x40.
Just Googled and found some prices at a competitors site. $300 to $900. Edited by 300S&W - September/02/2009 at 06:20 |

Kruger Optics popped up a couple of years ago. I ahve some communication with them back then, primarily regarding their projected reticle spotter. I never actually had a chance to spend serious time with their products. I did see them at SHOT a couple of years ago, but it loks their product line has changed significantly since then. At the time all of their products were made in China (supposedly designed in US).

I am familiar with Kruger Optical and the K5 scopes. Kruger is made up of former Leupold employees, mostly engineers, who branched off and started their own company over 10 years ago. They are very good at binocular and riflescope design. I know they have a new manufacturing facility in central Oregon and they design optics there.
