The only thing that will get them out is for another gang to move in. Then after a few get shot at the more vicious gang will survive. It would be nice to invite a Federal Marshal to hunt with you.

You do that type of activity here in Montana, there are several outcome, and neither is good for the guy that did the threatening.

Montana has some awesome elk hunting.  But tags are hard to get, and very expensive for out of state.  I pay 20 or so for and elk tag.  I think out of state pays 600 or so.  An outfitter sponsored tag (guarenteed) are about 1500 for deer/elk combo.  I can say that the outfitter I worked for, it was a real hunt.  We knew general areas they moved, but that was it.  And the public was welcome up there.

$4800 for rifle, includes the $1500 outfitter sponsored tag.  He also has prices for 7 day and 10 day archery hunts.

That is the link to the outfitter I worked for.  The new owner I would still highly recommend.  The outfitter I was working for was 76 and decided it was time to get out.  I wish I had the money to buy it from him, but I didn't.  The guy that did buy it, is a great guy.

And for those of you wondering, I am mentioned in the testimonials a couple times.  Just had to brag a little. Big Smile

My proudest moment was calling in a 6x5 for a bowhunter.  Got that bull to stop 12 yards away from him broadside.  The picture is under the hunting photos.  Third down on the right.

That is a very deceiving picture.  He is set well back from the animal to make it appear bigger.  Still a GREAT animal though.  I would shoot it.

without a doubt in my mind, this is the  place to hunt for the elk of a lifetime.

If it's private land, then I completely believe in the landowner's rights. Once I was hunting with friends on their ranch and we came across two hunters that had likely just gotten confused by two gates. But we didn't want them where they were in one of the prime spots either! So we showed them a detailed map, where they were at, and everybody was polite about it.

But if it's public land, that kind of thing the Moss outfit pulls would really piss me off. I've always found that good maps and/or a custom map on my GPS helps prove location and legal status. But then I have access to ArcGIS and other mapping tools. Otherwise, it's hard to get an accurate portrayal of land ownership so you can prove without a doubt that the other guy is full of it.
Reaction time is a factor...

The Mescalero Apache Indian Reservation certainly has big bulls.......I just pulled up the above picture at random......anyway, for $10,000 CASH MONEY a Boone and Crockett head is assured....unless you can't shoot...... anyway, they got 'em

The problem with a lot of these places is that is is a once in a lifetime chance for a draw. By next year will be pushing 60 so I have wasted most of my life without taking a chance. Need to be able to make it happen within the next 2 years.

I just won a raffle: 2-day, guided elk hunt in Chama, New Mexico, on private land.  Maybe the best $20 I ever spent!

News and pictures to follow.
