This past week-end I participated in my second competition after re-barreling White Wilma. And she came out tops!
The shoot was abit easier then the field shoot, being a range shoot. This meant the distances were known, so things are a bit easier.
The field consisted of 84 contestants.

First up was 200 m prone at a springbuck. I placed 4 shots in the head and pulled one for a snout shot which counted a minus 15! So I walked away with 105/150.

Next up was the Impala from a kneeling or sitting position at 100m. White Wilma put 5 shots between the eyes for 150/150.

On the same pic below are the warthog. This was 5 shots offhand at 38m. Again White Wilma did not dissapoint with 5 shots between the eyes for another 150/150.

Then came the 5 gongs, at distances between 150 and 200 yds. By now WW was on a roll and the gongs rang like church bells for another 150/150

The total of 555/600 was good enough to put me in 1st place.

Good shooting "8",  It Looks as though your developing great confidence and shooting skills, I only wish I could say the same for myself.

Thanks you. I am putting quite a bit of effort into it. I can no longer blame my equipment as it is as good as it is going to get. I have made my own gongs according to the competion specs at quite a cost as 400 Rockwell steel was used. I have had these out on the range up to 350 m.
Being able to practise this discipline has made quite a difference.
The off-hand shooting at 38yds sounds easy, untill one tries it! I have also done abit of practise on this discipline.
So practise, practise is the motto.

Great shooting Wouter! I practice on plates too. Gives instant feedback so you can push your limits while practicing.
Long Live White Wilma!

Thanks for all your nice words. Our next shoot is on the 5thSep when we will be participating in an individual and team event. The shoot will be held near Calvinia, in the heart of spring flower country. The wild flowers carpet the veld to make for some spectacular sceneray.

Almost forgot that it's spring time there. Shoot some pics of the flowers, and the range if you can, and let us know how you do.
Good luck to you.

In Africa I heard they award with Diamonds and Gold, not flimsy colored ribbons. They are much more refined.
Folks ain't got a sense of humor no more. They don't laugh they just get sore.

Need to follow the rules. Just hard to determine which set of rules to follow
Now the rules have changed again.
