Has anyone encountered a problem with this scope? I was at Whole Sale sports and their entire gun staff was ecstatic about it.

the only real issue i had with the ffII i had was that the fast focus was sticky, and it got really hard to turn when it got cold. the problem with that was that if you made any focus adjustments it moved the power ring too. other than that its a pretty good scope for the money.

They're tough as nails. You could do alot worse for the money spent on one.
Have any idea what you want to spend on a scope?

Nice scope, great deal, though I'm not to crazy about the rotating eye piece/power ring.

$500 is good. Lots of nice scopes out there in that range or a bit less. Also I see your not sure on a rifle/cartridge combo yet so your scope choice can wait.

They are tough. My uncle dropped a rifle on a concrete floor while cleaning it after a hunt a couple of years ago. This was a heavy, wood stocked Sako, and it landed on top of the scope, a Burris Fullfield II 3x9. It made a sickening noise and thought for sure the scope would be ruined. Upon inspection, the top turret on the scope was crushed inwards, but that was the only visible damage. I was really surprised when I shot it. It worked fine. I wrote to Burris and they sent me a new turret cap for free, albeit 9 months later. That scope is still in use and works well. I'd be willing to bet some of the more expensive scopes on the market would have broken.
The Burris ballistic plex reticle is fairly simple, clean and easy to use compared to most ballistic reticles. That said, I recommend you shoot your gun in at different ranges rather than just relying on the info they provide with the scope. That way you know for sure what those hash marks represent distance-wise for your gun and load. The glass is ok, not as good as the Bushnell 4200's, but for they money they're good values. |

Me three....
I bought a 4.5-14x42 about 3 years ago, nice scope (bright optics). The only downside and some may diasagree regarding the ballistic plex reticle is it may be difficult to see in low light, other wise its agood deal for the money...
