What do you think of this for my new Rem 700 SPS SS in 223, it will be used as a bean field rifle (woodchucks) with an occasional coyote hunt. http://swfa.com/Leupold-45-14x40-VX-3-Riflescope-P12681.aspx Any other suggestions?
Thanks,
Sam

I would tend to think that it might just possibly work very well in that application.
And I would be right, too!

I think it would work nicely, I personally have been eyeing up the savage 25 rifle.

Good scope, Sam.
The only thing that bugged me was the variable eye relief betwen power settings. It seemed rather pronounced to me on this particular scope.

If buying the Leupold VX3 consider buying the one with the CDS custom dial feature so you can easily dial in correction for trajectory.

I have that same scope, sorta (mine is a VXIII with side focus). I like mine, and the VH reticle is nice, without being too 'busy'. I don't think you would be disappointed, but the Zeiss stuff is pretty nice too....I have found mine to be clear, durable and holds zero. I have mine on a 300 wm with a break.

Thanks guys, Those are great suggestions; I think my best course of action is to keep checking the Sample List to see if something there tickles my fancy. Sam
