Over the years I have shot freehand, or relied on fence posts, leaning against the tree, etc when taking longer distance shots.  I now which to incorporate a more consistanct rest into my hunting shots.  I'm not sure which would fit my needs best.  Perhaps I need to get a couple.

I hunt from treestands.  All of my stands are set up for bowhunting, so don't have a rest for firearms.  I have had good success using either my knee or the tree.  However, there have been a couple of situations where I needed to stand, and the tree was of know help based on the shot angle.  Is there a good shooting stick that can be used in conjuction with a platform stand?

I often still hunt field edges in the late season, usually at last light.  Often I will be shooting from behind a wooden plank fence.  I have had success using fence posts as a rest for long shots.  However several times I've been busted moving up to the fence.  I would prefer some kind of adustable rest that allows me to adjust a shooting position between 1'-3' off the ground, so I can shoot between the fence boards from several feet back, from either a sitting or kneeling position.  Any suggestions?

Thank you.

I"ve had stoney point, harris, and now I use the Snipe Pod. It is IMO by far better than the other two for hunting purposes. I don't forsee a need to ever use anything else.

Check em out.
