So is it usual for eye relief to get longer as the magnification gets lower? I seem to keep seeing that 8x binos have longer eye relief than 10x and 12x. This kinda sucks for me because I like 7-8x in conjunction with shorter eye relief.

It usually is more a difference in how the bin is designed than the magnification, its in how the eyecups will adapt for those with or without glasses.

Seems like most Binos are "optimized" for eyeglass wearers. I only have a slight near sightedness so I never wear my glasses but I like to use my binos on hikes since it lets me see crystal clear views without my glasses.
