I'm not totally familiar with either of these two scopes but familiar with both brands...
I'm looking for a scope to be mounted on a 300WSM synthetic stock w/ brake I'm going to be using it as a hunting rig and want a setup that is versatile enough to be used for spot/stalk, long range 300 to 500 yards, stand hunting and what not... It will be used at all hours of the day so enhancement in dawn and dusk hours will be considered beneficial. The two scopes that I'm considering are: Sightron SII Big Sky 4.5-14x44 MD w/ side focus parallax and Zeiss Conquest 4.5-15X44 w/ Z800 reticle If there are any other scopes in this price range that I should be looking at please let me know. I thank you gentlemen. |

Both are excellent scopes.Sightron has a lens coating which prevents rain from fogging up the scope which is a plus for hunting.

I had that Conquest on a 300WM Tikka T3 in 300WM and loved it. (I will tell you that Zeiss advised me not to mount their 1-inch tube scopes on a magnum, but subsequent calls to Zeiss have not gotten that same recommendation. And the scope never failed.)
The glass is good, the reticle is good, and you can have Kenton Industries print a BDC tuerret for your exact load, if you decide to do that. Also, if your scope has hunting knobs, Ziess will install target knobs for $50/turret. I had my elevation turret repalcd with a target turret and mounted a Kenton BDC, very simple, very accurate, killed everything I shot at. |

Both fine scopes. The Zeiss optics are reported to be a shade better.
