I recently purchased this pre '04 Leupold Vari-X III 3.5x10 and a pre '04 Leupold 4" 40mm sunshade. The shade is too big so obviously the scope objective is smaller than 40mm. Does any one know how I can find my obj size? It is not listed on the scope anywhere.
Thanks in advance for any help! |

If that's a pic of your scope, the reason the sunshade won't fit is because they're designed for Leupold scopes w/adjustable objectives.

You mean to tell me that you can't get a sunshade for a Mk 4 10X ???

Only info I could find was at a competitors web site,Roy. All Leupold sunshades, except for ones for 45mm scopes, had a note saying they were for adjustable objective equipped scopes only only. ???

That almost looks like a standard 3.5-10x40 that has the target turrets. It also looks as though someone blacked out the gold ring by hand.

Uh Oh. A fake maybe?
Forgot. I took some measurements from the 2.5" sunshade on my Vari-XIII 3.5-10x40AO last evening:
Outside diam.=49.8mm
Diam. on threads=44.2mm

I don't know about it being a fake. The previous owner might have wanted to make it look tacti-cool.
I could also be completely wrong. |
