Would like your impressions. It has come down to either it, or Nikon Venturers, but the Nikons are $600 more.

I would say that the Nikons are better binos. I do not think that they are $600.00 better and they are very heavy by comparison.

Thanks, Ranburr - I like my Pentax 20x50 binocs, but they are too big and heavy (and too much mag) for birding.
And I just can't bring myself to pay over $1000 for the Nikons - I could get 2 pairs of the Pentaxes and still have money left over for goodies.

If your gonna spend $1k + you gotta consider resale value. Nikon does not have as strong a resale value as the big 3 (Leica, Swarovski and Zeiss).
I like your idea of getting two Pentaxes. If you like your 20x50 porro Pentax your gonna love the SP. |

Good points, Chris - plus now the wife wants her own pair - may have to go for the Celestron Noble 8x32 to start (x2)
