I am considering one of the following mentioned binoculars (Kahles, Pentax SP, Pinnacles, Alpen Apex)  Suggestions on which of these are the best for the money would be appreciated.  Pros and Cons of each.

I prefer the Kahles, but for the money the Pentax are very good.  I think the Kahles are a little better optically and a lot better as far as ruggedness goes.  The other two are not in the same league.

Check out the comparison on these brands and see which one will work best for you. I personally would go with either Kahles or Pentax.

Pentax - I am going to get some SPs myself very soon - have done a lot of research and they will be the best birding optics I can get for under $500

If I could swing $1000, though, I'd get the Nikon Venturers
